Everyone loves a challenge, and this is one will stretch your imagination and creativity!

So how does the Challenge work?

The Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge is being held as part of the 2021 Scenic Rim Adventure Festival.

Starting at Mount Barney Lodge in the heart of the spectacular Scenic Rim, you are in for an 8 hour challenge to take 36 magic shots. A set of Clues will be provided – and from there it’s up to you and your creativity! Do your best to interpret the clues, remember not everything is as a seems. We will also give you some Signature Items that must be included in particular shots, you’ll get extra points if you include these. To step it up a bit all your images must be taken as a jpeg, and cannot be edited externally to the camera.

Yes, we know you are! The Challenge is a great chance to get out and about in the beautiful Scenic Rim, and to pit yourself against the clues, and the clock!

The Clues are not location specific, so whether you choose to be on foot out on the trails, or cruising to scenic drives, that's up to you, you can choose their own way to adventure!

We suggest you familiarise yourself with what the Scenic Rim has to offer. It’s a big place and you don’t really have a lot of time.

Date and Time Frame

The Shooting Window will be 8 hours, on Saturday 20 March 2021

Delivering your pictures

You’ll need to deliver your pictures (maximum 36 files) on the provided SD Card together with your completed Clue Sheet to the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge HQ at Mt Barney Lodge by the stated finishing time late on Saturday afternoon 20 March 2021. Should your camera not take an SD card it is your responsibility to transfer said images onto the provided SD card before the finish time... All images received by the Deadline will become eligible to be scored.

- Creativity and Impact
- Uniqueness
- Technical Quality
Bonus points
- Image that capture subjects included on the provided list of Gondwana Highlights
- BONUS points for those who submit an image for all 36 clues
- BONUS points for clever use of Signature Items
Prizes and Awards
- The photographer with the highest aggregate of points will be announced as the Challenge Champion and will receive the Major Prize
- Prizes from our sponsors will be awarded in a number of other categories. Challenge Completed Certificates will be awarded for those completing all 36 Clues
- Awards will be announced on Sunday 21 March at 3pm, Live at the 2021 Scenic Rim Adventure Festival, Mount Barney Lodge
Additional Photography Events at the Festival

Join in the Scenic Rim Adventure Festival activities on Friday, Saturday night and Sunday. Talks, demos, and workshops (some free, some ticketed) will be held during the Sunday in the lead-up to the Awards ceremony at 3pm.

Rules to abide by
- Only 36 images are to be on the allocated SD card
- Imagery must be provided as Jpeg. Raw files will not be not accepted
- NO external editing of images allowed, only in camera.
- Images must be relevant to the provided Clues
- Only one image per Clue
- All images must have a GPS co-ordinate listed on the Clue form (this can be done using a compass app on your phone)
- If your camera does not take the provided SD – you are responsible to transfer 36 images to the SD card.
- You are bound to take images by the borders of the Scenic Rim Council
- The SD card, completed CLUES SHEET with GPS notes & GPS Tracker must be returned at end of day before deadline to be eligible for judging.
- No trespassing on Private Property or accessing of restricted areas.
Challenge Buddies

All competitors are required to have a Challenge Buddy – this can be another competitor or not – each buddy pair will be required to spend the day together in the interests of safety. Your buddy will be logged on your Registration form. All participants will also be provided with a GPS tracker.

Prior to Registering for the Adventure Challenge, there are a couple of things you will need to do:
1. Firstly, go to the Scenic Rim Adventure Festival Ticketing Site and purchase an entry into the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge – make sure you record the Scenic Rim Adventure Festival Ticket Code Number # – you will need it lot complete Registration.
2. Make Sure you either have a Day or Weekend Scenic Rim Adventure Festival Pass; or accomodation booked onsite at Mount Barney Lodge (this includes your Festival Passes: see links below
3. Arrange a Challenge Buddy who will accompany you for the day (you'll need to enter their details on the Registration Form)

DEFINITIONS
- Adult is any person 18 years or older at the time of the challenge.
- Agent means officials, employees, volunteers, affiliations, sponsors and medical staff/ first aid responders who are involved in the managing/staging/operating of the challenge and associated challenges/activities.
- Challenge Buddy any adult that accompanies the Participant during the challenge. The Challenge Buddy in no way is a Participant or can partake in the challenges of the challenge.
- Challenge Day means the day of the challenge ie Saturday, 20 March 2021
- Challenge Organiser means Foto Frenzy ABN 733 897 390 03
- Conditions mean these terms and conditions of entry for the challenge.
- Registration Fee means the cost of individual entry into the challenge set out in the entry form.
- Registration Form means the website registration form which requires detail to be provided for participation in a challenge.
- Participant means the person who will be participating in the challenge and named on the Registration Form.
- The Jury - means a panel of independent experts who will judge the submitted imagery.
- Waiver Form means the website waiver form releasing the Challenge Organisers and Agents event location from liability if the person signing the Waiver Form was injured while at the event or during their participation.
PARTICIPANT DECLARATION

The Participant acknowledges that participation in the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge is a physical activity. It is acknowledged that participation in the challenge is physically demanding and is aware of the nature of the challenge and associated medical and physical risks involved. The Participant declares they are physically capable of competing in the challenge and agrees that Foto Frenzy and its agents are not responsible for any injury or illness that they may suffer as a result of participation in the challenge. Each Participant agrees to abide by the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge Terms & Conditions. The Participant shall not be entitled to a refund of their registration fees if they are disqualified from the challenge as a result of an infringement of these conditions. Such challenge conditions, including limits on the time taken to complete the challenge that may be initiated by the Challenge Organiser at its discretion to ensure the safe and proper running of the challenge. The Participant must register their entry as directed by the Challenge Organiser. It is the Participant’s responsibility to provide their own first aid supplies throughout the challenge as well as providing their own hygiene kit including: Hand sanitiser, face mask, drinking water and first aid kit. While the Challenge Organiser takes every care with the staging of the challenge, the Participant acknowledges that personal accident and personal items insurance is their responsibility.
- All Participants need to meet the Age Requirement.
- All Participants agree to sign the Waiver Form that is part of the challenge registration.
- If the Participant is under the age of 18 the Waiver Form must be signed by a parent or guardian.
- The Participant shall not be eligible to compete in the challenge until the Registration Form and payment is completed, submitted and paid (cleared funds).
- All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
AGE REQUIREMENT

Due to the physical nature of the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge any Participant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The following guidelines are recommended for the safety of the Participants and Challenge Buddy’s during the event:
- Each Participant in the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge is required to have a Challenge Buddy. The Challenge Buddy can be another competitor or not. The Challenge Buddy is responsible for accompanying the Participant for the day. As a Challenge Buddy you are needed and required to keep a lookout for the Participant in the interests of safety, and as such will be the first point of contact/assistance should an emergency arise during the Challenge. If the Challenge Buddy is not a Participant, they cannot enter images in the Challenge. If you do not have a Challenge Buddy we can endeavour to match you with another competitor on the day..
- Your Emergency numbers are listed on the CLUE SHEET and EMERGENCY CARD in the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge Pack.
- Participants are responsible for the behaviour of their Challenge Buddy and vice versa. Any Challenge Buddy or Participant found to be contravening any Challenge Organisers’ directions may lead to their disqualification from the challenge.
- If, in the opinion of medical personnel, a team member is unable to continue for medical reasons, then Foto Frenzy reserves the right to withdraw that Participant from the challenge.
- Start and finish times for the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge will be communicated to the Participant 48 hours prior to the Challenge Day via the email listed on the Registration Form.
- A Participant's finishing time will be recorded at the finish line.
- Participants are always to remain on the marked tracks, roads and footpaths etc, within the boundary of the scenic rim. DO NOT trespass on any private properties.
- Should a Participant want to withdraw during the challenge, the Participant must report this at the Foto Frenzy Challenge HQ at the Mt Barney Adventure Festival and sign a form to indicate they are signing out of the challenge. If for any reason the Participant leaves the challenge without communication to staff. Failure to do so can trigger an emergency response and use resources that may be required for real emergency responses, for which the Participant will be liable.
- Leave no trace of your travel throughout the challenge. Please respect the environment and leave all flora and fauna as you found it as well as carrying out all your rubbish. Please respect other members of the public you may encounter during the challenge as the challenge does not have exclusive use of any area.
- Participants found knowingly littering or vandalising any property will be disqualified from the challenge.
- Use toilets if available. Away from toilets, take care with sanitation and hygiene and don't pollute natural water supplies. Ensure all faecal matter and toilet paper is properly buried (15cm deep) well away from tracks, camp sites and 100m from all watercourses and drainage channels (carry a small trowel for this purpose)
- Participants will be disqualified if they receive assistance from their CHALLENGE BUDDY at any other time or location during the challenge. Exceptions will only be allowed with prior approval from Foto Frenzy and only for extraction or medical emergency.
- Participants must obey the road rules always and follow all directions given by road crossing personnel and challenge officials.
- The challenge has nominated Foto Frenzy Challenge HQ closing times. If a Participant has not reached the finishing line/Foto Frenzy Challenge HQ by these specified times they will be withdrawn from the challenge.
COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT:

The Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge is an endurance challenge and does require that Participants are well equipped with compulsory equipment. The reason being that the challenge may cause you to be out at dusk and sunset:
- In the likelihood of rain, a waterproof jacket or poncho with hood is required.
- The ability to carry a minimum of 1 litre of water in bottles or hydration bladder.
- A head torch with spare batteries between dusk and dawn.
- A fully charged mobile phone with charging facilities in your vehicle or fully charged personal portable power bank. The mobile number must be the same number given to Foto Frenzy in your registration form. Challenge officials may send out alert SMS messages or call in the case of an emergency to these numbers.
- A first aid kit suitable for the challenge. Suggested items include but are not limited to: space bag or blanket, snake bite bandage, triangle bandage, wound dressings, crepe bandage and wound closure strips, sanitiser, face mask, gloves.
It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they are well equipped with compulsory equipment, as well as a personal hygiene kit.

GPS TRACKER

All competitors to be provided with a GPS tracker for which they are liable for loss/damage and replacement. On collection of the Challenge Pack, each competitor will be required to sign an authority to charge their credit card for $400 for replacement if the GPS Tracker is lost/broken/stolen.

WITHDRAWALS, CANCELLATIONS AND ALTERATIONS
- For any cancellation or alteration of ticketing. Please refer to the Scenic Rim Adventure Festival @Mt Barney Terms & Conditions as agreed too at the time of booking.
- Participant’s withdrawal from the challenge must be communicated in writing via email to the Challenge Organiser at bookings@fotofenzy.com.au. Withdrawals will not be accepted by telephone.
- The Challenge organiser reserves the right to withdraw the Participant from the challenge for any reason and at any time deemed appropriate; injury, breach of challenge rules & regulations, and in such circumstances the Participant will not be offered a refund of their registration fee.
- The Challenge Organiser reserves the right to amend and or cancel the challenge in consultation with and under the direction of Emergency Service agencies and major challenge stakeholders; however, Foto Frenzy will only exercise these rights due to owing to force majeure or circumstances beyond its control (e.g. weather conditions), with all Participants being notified as soon as possible. In the advent of bad weather, Foto Frenzy will make all attempts to reschedule the challenge to an alternative date giving enough notice for participation.
LIABILITY
- The organisers of the Challenge, have public liability insurance cover. This does not include personal accident insurance for participants. We recommend that you arrange your own personal accident insurance and ambulance cover before participating in the Challenge to cover any unforeseen personal costs you may incur due to ambulance transport, medical expenses or time off work due to injuries sustained whilst participating or training.
- The Challenge Organiser cannot be held responsible for emails that do not arrive due to an entrant’s email security settings or restrictions placed by their Internet Service Provider. Entrants must ensure that their settings accept emails from Foto Frenzy.
- The Challenge Organiser regret that they cannot accept liability for any loss of or damage to any entry submitted into the Competition how so ever caused or for any other loss or damage as a result.
- The Challenge Organiser regret that they cannot accept liability for the misuse of images and/or failure of any third party to comply with the Competition’s credit guidelines.
- Except where expressly stated elsewhere in the Terms & Conditions, the Challenge Organiser regrets that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, they cannot accept any liability for any loss or damage suffered by any entrant in relation to the Competition or the use of any prize.
JUDGING, AWARDS, PRIZES
- An independent panel of experts comprising a chair and judges (The Jury) will be appointed by the Challenge Organiser to score the images and award the winners of the categories and overall winner.
- The Jury’s decision is final.
- Each image will be score using the following criteria Response to the Clue, Creativity and Impact, Uniqueness, Technical Quality.
- Prizes are not exchangeable for cash. Please note that prizes must be claimed within one year of the awards announcements (or within a mutually agreed period) unless otherwise specified or the prize will be forfeited. Travel prizes are to be redeemed subject to availability and must be booked and completed in a timeframe suitable for both recipient and vendor.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Each entry must be the original work of the entrant. The entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright in the entry submitted. Ownership of the copyright in any entry submitted to the Competition will remain with the copyright owner(s). The photographer will be credited (eg © photographer’s name). The photographer agrees that the Challenge Organiser will not be liable to the photographer in the event of inadvertent omission of the credit. By entering the Competition, the entrant grants to the Challenge Organiser a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to reproduce, publish, exhibit, and communicate to the public, by any means, and in all media throughout the world. This license is granted for use in relation to current and future Competition/s, which shall include (with the right to sub-license where necessary) – but will not be limited to – any of the following uses:
- the process of judging the Competition
- display during the awards ceremony
- publication in magazines, e-magazines, media websites or print media which the Challenge Organiser (or their official partners, supporters, or sponsors) may endorse;
- publication on relevant parts of the Challenge Organiser’s website, including within interactive elements available for viewing or download;
- in publicity materials (including social media).
- awarded submissions may be used by the Challenge Organiser for the purposes of promoting the Competition, from the date of notification of awarded submissions and thereafter. The Challenge Organiser may keep the awarded submissions within an archive (electronic or otherwise) provided that, should the submissions be used in connection with the Competition, after the period of five (5) years following the notification of awarded submissions.
PUBLICITY & RESULTS
- All participants agree that, if their entry is selected by the Jury, they will participate in related publicity and agree to the use of their name and likeness for the purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity of this and future variants of the Competition without additional compensation.
- The participant irrevocably consents to their appearance in the Challenge being filmed, recorded and incorporated in whole or in part in any television programme, film, video or broadcast of whatever nature by all means and, in all media, and formats now or invented after the date of these conditions.
- The Challenge Organiser reserves the right to vary these conditions by giving notice to the participant in writing in any official Challenge material or correspondence prior to the Challenge.
- All decisions and rulings by the Challenge Organiser, its employees and its agents are considered final.
DATA PROTECTION
- The personal data of entrants will be managed by the Challenge Organiser in accordance with data protection legislation.
- The Challenge Organiser will collect personal data about entrants (and the entrant’s parent/guardian where applicable) at the time of registration, and as otherwise provided in order to administer the Competition and/or all associated activities.
- Entrants may contact the Challenge Organiser at any time to update their details and/or preferences regarding the permitted use of their personal data.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES In the event of a major injury or emergency during the challenge, the following procedures are recommended:
- Contact Foto Frenzy Challenge HQ on the emergency phone number given to you and inform them of the situation. This will be a dedicated phone for emergencies only.
- Ring 000 and when asked your name also state “we are participating in The Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge - Mt Barney”.
- Ring 112 and treat the same as a 000 call. Follow instructions from Emergency Services and/or challenge officials. Administer first aid treatment if required and continue until assistance arrives.
- Emergency numbers are listed in the Photo Challenge Check Sheet.
- Bush Fire. Phone the challenge emergency number if you believe you are in danger, to advise or gather information. Follow challenge officials' instructions if advised to do so by officials. If trapped, call emergency services on 000 or 112 from a mobile. Find a safe position in water, away from trees (in clear ground), in low ground or dig a trench.

I acknowledge and confirm : Except to the extent that this waiver may be prohibited or restricted by the Trade Practices Act 1974 or other legislation that may exist from time to time in Australia, I hereby release Whales Underwater and Foto Frenzy, its employees and agents and any contracted service providers and licensors or licensees of it from all claims and actions that I/we have or may have at any time in the future against them or any of them, how so ever arising, for bodily injury or death, that I/ we may suffer as a result of my/our participation in any trip organised with, or in conjunction with Whales Underwater and Foto Frenzy.

I am aware that adventure travel, in addition to the usual dangers and risks inherent, has certain additional dangers and risks, some of which may include: physical exertion for which I may not be prepared, weather extremes subject to sudden and unexpected change, remoteness from normal medical services, evacuation difficulties if I am disabled.

I accept all the inherent risks of the proposed adventure tour and the possibility of bodily injury or death resulting there from. I acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of adventure travel is derived in part from the inherent risks incurred by travel and activity beyond the accepted safety of life at home or work, and that these inherent risks contribute to such enjoyment and excitement, being a reason for my participation.

I agree that if I suffer bodily injury or death Whales Underwater and Foto Frenzy can, at my cost, arrange medical treatment and emergency evacuation services, as Whales Underwater and Foto Frenzy deems essential for my safety. In entering into this Agreement, I am not relying on any oral, written or visual representatives or statements by Whales Underwater and Foto Frenzy or its staff or any other inducement or coercion to go on the adventure trip, hence, only of my own free will.

I confirm that I am over the age of 18 years and that I have read and also understand the terms and conditions of contract and this Agreement prior to signing it and agree that this Agreement will be binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, governed in all respects by and interpreted in accordance with the law of the Commonwealth of AUSTRALIA. If I am under 18 years, my legal guardian or parent will accompany me and assume all responsibility for signing this on my behalf.
