Gallery Frenzy Exhibition Program

Hardy Lamprecht | Perspectives of Form: A Sojourn Away

Exhibition Runs May 2- May 30 2013

A first solo show by Hardy Lamprecht at Gallery Frenzy has produced a selection of carefully crafted black and white images of landscapes and man made objects within the landscape.

Lamprecht demonstrates a fine understanding of tone, texture and lighting in finding an angle to reduce a man made structure to an abstract interpretation. The photographs are sourced from around the world but via Lamprecht’s lens they have adopted a life of their own, which stands aloof of international boundaries. A reference to the title is necessary to find a location. This enables the viewer to concentrate on shape and style rather than playing the role of tourist.

This Exhibition is recommended for the viewer wanting to enjoy classic monochrome photography, with a touch of conceptual whimsy.

“The world is full of form and because our perception of it is optional and sometimes subjective, we can miss its random wonders of symmetry, geometry, texture and repetition.

Whether it be a paintbrush, a clod of clay, a marble block or a camera… each medium slows us down and makes us ‘see’. It gives us an opportunity to recognise beauty especially when it is highlighted, even liberated, by isolation from the environment.

In this exhibition I explore various perspectives of form that I have discovered and been enlightened by through happenstance while on numerous, sometimes adventurous, journeys both interstate and abroad.” Hardy Lamprecht
