Every photographer loves a challenge, and this event will stretch imaginations and creativity!
The Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge is part of the 2021 Scenic Rim Adventure Festival that is being held over the weekend of 19-21 March 2021, just 2 hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Starting at the Adventure Festival Headquarters at Mount Barney Lodge on the morning of the 20th March, competitors will embark on an 8-hour challenge to create 36 magical images of this spectacular region by the Saturday evening deadline.
Working from a set of Clues, photographers will spread out across the Scenic Rim, pitting themselves against the clock, interpreting the Clues … and challenging their skills, and their creativity.

How does it work?
The key to the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge is the list of 36 Clues that will be provided to each competitor on the morning of the Challenge, Saturday, 20th March 2021.
The Clues are not location specific, so whether you choose to be out on the walking trails, or cruising the scenic drives, it’s up to you to choose your own creative adventure.
All competitors will be supplied with a Challenge Pack that includes:
- Clue Sheet
- Map of the Scenic Rim
- SD Card
- GPS Tracker
- Special “Signature Items”
Images will be scored based on criteria including:
- Response to the Clue
- Creativity and Impact
- Uniqueness
- Technical Quality
Challenge Prizes and Awards
At the end of scoring, the photographer with the highest aggregate of points will be announced the Foto Frenzy Adventure Challenge Champion, and will receive the Major Prize.
Prizes from our sponsors will be awarded in a number of other categories and Challenge Completed certificates will be awarded for those completing all 36 Clues.
Just by competing, photographers will be have the chance to win spots on ticketed events, including Krystle Wright’s Demo and the Sunrise, Toast and Post workshop, both held on Sunday morning 21st March at Mount Barney Lodge.

We’re excited to be hosting a special ticketed event on Sunday morning, where Krystle will take participants LIVE into her world of adventure photography, demonstrating her skills and creativity on the rock wall.

Sunrise, Toast and Post Workshop
The Foto Frenzy team’s Sunrise, Toast and Post workshop is your chance to capture the magical first light over Mount Barney, Mount Maroon and surrounds under guidance from expert photographers … then after the shoot, bring your breakfast and we’ll share ideas and techniques as we add the finishing touches to the morning’s images with both technical and creative post-processing assistance.
This 2.5-hour workshop will hone your skills in both shooting and processing your images.
Requirements: Camera and laptop with Lightroom, photoshop or similar program running.

Scenic Rim Adventure Festival @ Mt Barney Lodge is a long-weekend adventure festival highlighting the wide array of adventure activities that you can engage with in the Scenic Rim Region.
The festival is part of the Gondwana Festival, a month-long celebration through March 2021 of some of the most precious and spectacular areas of the Queensland section of the World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.
