Bumphead Parrotfish in Palau

Join hosts Jasmine Carey & Darren Jew for the Bumphead Parrotfish Spawning in Palau
3-10 January 2021

Palau is an island group in the western Pacific, just to the north of the equator. It lies close to the deepest parts of the ocean and is renowned for its beautiful coral reefs, diversity of fish life, and abundant pelagic species.

Palua is also famous for Jellyfish Lake, which provides the opportunity to swim in a unique freshwater environment amongst thousands of harmless pulsating jellyfish.

Join 6-time Australian Professional Nature Photographer of the Year Darren Jew (IG: @DarrenJew ), on board Solitude One in Palau for this special trip coinciding with the Bumphead Parrotfish spawning.

Darren will share insights into both the techniques and the creative processes he employs in the making of his award-winning images. Darren has had a life-long career in nature photography, and will draw on his vast experience both in capture and post-processing to help you make the most of the opportunities presented on your trip.

Fellow ocean photographer Jasmine Carey (IG: @pxlexplorer ) will also be on-board to assist with your questions and to infuse her enthusiasm for capturing and sharing all things in the ocean. Darren and Jasmine each have their own unique brand of visual story-telling, and love to help photographers of all levels bring out their best.

Check-out both Darren’s and Jasmine’s images from their last Palau trip on Solitude One here on instagram and also some IG Stories here.
